General Expectations
Arrive by 10:30 AM for setup and equipment check.
Bring fully charged camera(s), backup batteries, memory cards, and lens wipes.
Work independently and coordinate primarily with May and Jane for event logistics.
Be friendly and respectful—prioritize candid, action, and group shots.
Detailed Schedule & Shot List
11:00 AM – Event Kickoff
Capture:
Doors opening, first guests entering.
Street food vendors and cultural booths starting operations.
Volunteers (especially May & Jane) distributing and selling tickets—get candid and posed shots.
Volunteers briefing and prepping (May & Jane have the R&R list).
Wide shots of the venue, signage, and general atmosphere.
Action:
Check in with May & Jane for volunteer coverage and any special requests.
Let volunteers know you’ll be moving around for photos.
11:10 AM – 11:50 AM
Capture:
Guests exploring booths, interacting with vendors, trying food.
Close-ups of food, vendor displays, and cultural items.
Families and children enjoying the event.
Volunteers actively assisting guests and selling tickets.
Action:
Rotate between booths and crowd for a variety of angles.
Ask for a few posed group shots from vendors and volunteers if appropriate.
12:00 PM – Opening Ceremony (Livestreamed & Photo-Op)
Capture:
Audience during the Philippine and American National Anthems (standing, singing, respectful moments)
National Anthem performer.
Gene Carangal giving opening remarks (get both audience and side angles).
Special guest Marc Whyte speaking.
Crowd engagement and reactions.
Livestream setup in action (behind-the-scenes).
Action:
Stay clear of the livestream camera line of sight.
Move quietly—avoid flash during anthems and speeches.
Be prepared for any group photo opportunities after speeches (coordinate with May or Jane if needed).
1:00 PM – BBQ Demo #1
Capture:
Chef/BBQ expert prepping, grilling, and showcasing Filipino BBQ techniques.
Close-ups of food, grilling action, and chef at work.
Audience watching, asking questions, and interacting.
Chef giving tips and Q&A moments.
Raffle drawing: capture the announcement, winner’s reaction, and prize handoff.
Action:
Use burst mode for action shots (smoke, fire, hands at work).
Capture excitement and interaction.
Ask the chef for a quick posed shot with their BBQ if possible.
2:00 PM – Island Warriors Stonewolf Chapter Balintawak Arnis (20 min)
Capture:
Bryan Pepito speaking about Filipino Arnis and Balintawak origins.
Demonstrators performing Balintawak Arnis (action shots).
Audience reactions and engagement.
Raffle drawing for Balintawak prize: announcement, winner, and prize handoff.
Action:
Use burst mode for martial arts action shots.
Get both performer and audience perspectives.
After the demo, take a quick group photo of the performers if possible.
Additional Reminders
Consent: Always ask before photographing children or anyone who seems hesitant.
Backup: Swap memory cards or back up images during downtime if possible.
Notes: Keep a short log of key shots (raffle winners, guest speakers) for captions.
Communication: Check in with May and Jane every hour for special requests or updates.
End of Shift Checklist (3:00 PM)
Brief the next shift photographer on ongoing activities and any must-capture moments.
Ensure all images are saved and backed up.
Return any borrowed equipment.
Report to May or Jane with any urgent photo needs for the afternoon.
